Hawzah News Agency- The Lebanese Resistance party warned that targeting an official Iraqi entity, with the participation of an Arab state, represents a dangerous escalation that could open the door to extremely serious repercussions for the region.
The statement by Hezbollah came after the US-Saudi aggression that targeted positions belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces in several Iraqi provinces, killing 20 personnel and injuring 32 others. The attack was carried out under the pretext of responding to strikes on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, while the Islamic Resistance in Iraq denied the Saudi accusations, considering them an attempt to justify the inability to respond to Yemeni strikes.
Hezbollah said the aggression serves only the US-Israeli scheme aimed at destabilizing the region and fragmenting the nation, stressing that “the United States’ continued spilling of Iraqi blood once again exposes its aggressive intentions and its efforts to prevent Iraq’s stability.”
The remarks by Hezbollah came as Iraqi political and armed factions also voiced strong opposition to the aggression, with several groups denouncing the attacks.
The PMF said that the attacks were a "joint US-Saudi aggression" and said the casualty figures were preliminary.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq rejected Saudi Arabia's accusations that it had attacked Saudi territory. It stated that the claims were "an attempt to justify Riyadh's inability to respond to damaging Yemeni strikes against infrastructure in the Eastern Province and Riyadh, amid concerns over the nature of a potential future Yemeni response."
On its part, Iran’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned on Wednesday the US-Saudi aggression against Iraq, stressing that the attacks represented a violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the United Nations Charter.
In a similar vein, Yemen's Ansar Allah movement condemned the joint US-Saudi aggression against Iraq, stressing that the strikes were a blatant attack on Iraq's sovereignty and its people.
Ansar Allah denounced the US-Saudi aggression against Iraq, stressing that the attack constituted "a blatant assault on sovereignty and on the people with all their components and orientations."
